The iPTE application is delivered as a VMware ESX Virtual image. It is an ‘out of band’ tuning solution that has no inline hardware or software dependencies.

iPTE Management Console

The iPTE Management Console is a browser-based control center that gives IT support staff complete control and continuous information on system performance. Remediation can be set to occur immediately, on a deployment schedule, or triggered manually. IT can monitor problematic trends and fix them before they cause downtime. The iPTE Management Console maintains a history of all changes, and can rollback any set of changes at any time. Data from the Console can be integrated and presented through existing enterprise monitoring tools such as Microsoft’s System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).

Performance Improvements

Veloxum’s intelligent Performance Tuning Engine (iPTE) increases the density, load, and network throughput capacity of distributed applications delivered by XenDesktop. It does so by optimizing the manufacturer supplied server and client settings. These optimizations are done based on a variety of factors including the type of hosted application and location of users, and are always done within the vendor supported range configuration parameters. Once iPTE is in place, customers typically report a 30% increase in the guests to host ratio that the server can support.
